Diffusion Modelling on the Microstructure Evolution in MCrAlY-Superalloy System

نویسندگان

چکیده

Elemental diffusion drives the microstructure development in MCrAlY-superalloy systems at high temperature. In this paper, two models were built to simulate behavior of elements coating or coating–substrate system. Firstly, a core–shell model was set up investigate thermodynamic and kinetic localized microstructure. The results simulation successfully explained mechanism formation α(core)–γ′(shell) structure lower temperature (750 °C) γ(core)–β(shell) higher (1100 °C). Secondly, planner used interdiffusion between MCrAlY superalloy substrate. Ni22Cr10AlY-superalloy system semiquantitatively agreed with experimental observation. Furthermore, by applying model, effect coatings on TCP phases substrate studied, GOODMAN map for designing TCP-limited can be provided.

Dependence of Creep Performance and Microstructure Evolution on Solution Cooling Rate in a Polycrystalline Superalloy

It is well known that the solution cooling rate has a great effect on the creep life of superalloys. In this research, three typical cooling rates were applied to generate different distributions of γ’ precipitates for creep tests. Ingots used to make specimens were manufactured by hot extrusion, and the master alloy had the composition of an FGH4096 power metallurgy superalloy. SEM and SESD we...

Modelling the Evolution of Microstructure in Steel Weld Metal

Physical models for the development of microstructure have the potential of revealing new phenomena and properties. They can also help identify the controlling variables. The ability to model weld metal microstructure relies on a deep understanding of the phase transformation theory governing the changes which occur as the weld solidifies and cools to ambient temperature. Considerable progress ...
